Small noms this week! I flew out for a work trip and really didn’t check YouTube or streaming services while I was away, so that’s why it’s light!

Movies

• Handsome Guys | 2024 - This movie fucking slaps. I described it over text as “a Korean Wright and Pegg film” and I stand by that. It also cannot escape comparisons to Home Alone, but with a (oc)cult twist. It’s really funny. Like, really funny and wholesome. I enjoyed every second and really need more people to watch this film.

• Can Pokémon Platinum’s Rival Actually get All 8 Badges? | adef - I love this channel and I love content like this. It’s fun, well-paced and delivers on exactly what it describes. I am a nerd and I hate how channels like this make it so nakedly known.

Games

• Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade | SquareEnix | 2022 - This game just doesn’t let me down. I am still loving it and have been challenged, but it has yet to be too difficult to really force me to change my habits. I will say, I am having more fun with the build mechanics. I love going through the small stories like seeing Jesse interact with her family. Meeting Aerith made me immediately fall in love. I am smitten. I adore the hyper-linear, set-piece story telling. I am sick of rolling the dice of open worlds that have low floors and high ceilings in favor of a very good experience no matter what. I am looking forward to getting attached to these characters!
