TV

  • Dorohedoro | 2020 - Finally got around the finishing the season. I only grew to like this show more and more. This show, with only one season released, is going down as an all-time favorite! I can’t wait for season 2 to launch next year, and doubly excited to be a part of the release given I totally missed this five years ago lmao.
  • The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity | 2025 - Fuck 😭. I love this already. I will wrap on the season soon and just really loved it the whole way through. A great het romance series makes the man safe, but complex and it’s nice to have insight into his thought process. He grows, and he wants to grow, and that’s acceptable to me. It’s a sappy watch for any romance-heads. And she’s soooooooooooooooooooooo pretty.

Music

YouTube

  • How Dan Trachtenberg Built a Grand Unified Theory of Predator | The Backdrop - A surprisingly deep, accessible video essay about The Predator franchise. As a huge fan who was very disappointed in Predator: Badlands, this made me appreciate the series outside of its macho 80’s aesthetic, which was enough for me in the first place.
  • I Let Viewers Make My Backlog. Here’s What Happened | Daryl Talks Games - Okay, so this is the third in the series of videos about video game backlogs. I highly recommend watching the first. That video changed how I oritented to my 300+ games in my Steam library collected through Humble Bundles and impulse buys on sales spanning since I was in High School, and it was so overwhelming I just gave up. I didn’t know how to play a game to put it down and be at peace with that. And genuinely entertaining.

Books/Manga

  • Princess Jellyfish | Omnibus Volume 2 - Finished volume 2! Good the whole way through. I think I prefer tension rather than revelation, which this volume is building up to the latter. I am invested in the characters and am ready to see my way through the whole series! Here’s to more romance in the next volume!

Games

  • The Dungeons of Hinterberg - About halfway through! It’s still keeping on. Once I get to the most difficult dungeons, we will see if I finish the fight. I was asking myself 10 hours after the tutorial “where are the massive, cool boss fights that we had in the tutorial?” Well, I finally got one. It was excellent and a little silly, which I think works for this world. I hope I get a few more of those moments. The puzzle diversity is quite broad, so it’s stimulating, but sometimes a bit confusing.
  • The Turing Test - A kind of cute, small offshoot of the Portal era. I need something I can just play and not read pages of text, so this is nice. Though it does make me feel quite stupid already, that’s nothing new. I need a 5 hour game to get through. I feel like I’m halfway through three games (The Thaumaturge, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and Dungeons of Hinterberg) and need to feel the release of closing one out. The goal is to finish those three so they can land on my 2025 games played list.
