Movies
- Scary Movie | Michael Tiddes | 2026 - I had the Scary Movie remake (continuation?) on my radar for awhile. I didn’t watch the OG Scary Movie when it came out, but it did hit me at a very adolescent time of my life. It was in the transitory point between childhood and late teens where you are still celebrating Halloween, but it’s without your parents and the hormones are just raging underneath every costume. So it’s up there with all the Halloween classics I saw for the first time, like Nightmare on Elm St. Overall, I think they did not fuck this one up. It has good laughs, but mostly nostalgia call-back laughs. I just think the actors are funny people and it’s hard not to have laughs with this cast. They try to be self-aware and tackle some contemporary issues, but it’s mostly Scary Movie. I have this fear that I enjoyed it because I’m old, so that could be true, but also just seeing someone not fuck up a remake was pretty cool. Idk man, I’m insecure that I liked it so I guess that’s that.

- Does KOTOR still hold up in 2026? | Merudesu - A really surprising and non-typical take. Makes me wanna jump in.
- The Spectacular Failure of the Star Wars Hotel | Jenny Nicholson - Bruh, the video essay GOAT. I watched this over four-ish sessions and it was worth every second. Also, please watch the video version because the costumes never cease to amaze.
